Psalm 7:17 I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness,
and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High.
Today is a day of worship. It is a day to give God what is due Him. On this day, all over the world men and women are coming together to bow before God and give him the glory that he is due. Will you join them? We must be careful. We must be careful because today is a day of worship. We must be careful that we do not worship ourselves. We must guard our hearts from the temptation of making this about us.
The greatest assault the church will have is by those within its ranks. It is an assault of style and preference. When our experience of church is summed up by whether we have our style and preferences met, we have stopped worshiping God and have begun worshiping ourselves.
Church is meant to fulfill us, but not leave us comfortable. Church by God’s design is the body of saints gathered to worship by refining ourselves to God’s word, leaning on one another for strength and glorifying God through praise.
Here’s a challenge… Go to church and worship today. Leave the preferences of style and comfort at the door. Humble yourself and glorify God. Go and worship!
