One Year Ago Today…

One year ago today the Faulks came in view of a call to First Baptist Church of Vidalia. I can’t begin to tell you what a joy this past year has been for our family. We came knowing that God had called us to this church, and He has confirmed this calling every step of the way. Today I wanted to simply say thank you for being family to us, for loving us, and for opening your community to us. God is doing great things though you and our church.

IMG_3250As soon as the Faulks arrived in Vidalia, our neighbors to the south faced a life changing flood, and together we responded. FBCV donated trailer loads of relief items and sent team after team to help the broken and hurting people of Baton Rouge. The following October, we set a record for the most kids ever at our fall festival. During this time, our church grew to a point where we could no longer fit our whole church family in one service, so in January we moved to two services. I’m so thankful for every person who has gone above and beyond to help make this possible. On Easter Sunday, you invited your friends and family, and our church saw 743 people come through our doors. You have served in Kingdom Builders, on mission trips, through the WMU, in our prisons, and through Celebrate Recovery. Our students and kids are not just attending church but are becoming Christian leaders. God is doing incredible things at FBC Vidalia!!!

In the past year, we have seen 58 people join our church! That’s not the best part of it. God saved 20 people through the ministry of this church. Catch that… 20 people have trusted Jesus and have been baptized through the ministry of this church. WOW!!!!!

God has done wonderful things at our church. Don’t ever forget that “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion.” I cannot wait to see what God will do through the ministry of our church this coming year.

It’s good to be your pastor.
